The OR Experience

Natapos na rin ang Linggo!
I'm kind of satisfied with what happened within the week.

The thing that really left a mark on me was the Operating Room and Sir Bañas. Siya nag orient sa amin, at gusto ko mga pinagsasabi niya kasi may sense. Basta nagagalingan talaga ako sa kanya. Siya rin nakasama ko as Scrub sa "Medium" case na Appendectomy pero sabi namin ni Karla, gagawin na isasama na namin iyon sa major. Ruptured yung appendix e.

Ang first impression ko talaga sa OR ay "Mabilisan". Parang ang dating sa akin, lahat ng gagawin mo, gawin mo ng TAMA at MABILIS. Operation iyon e. At ang nakikita ko sa TV laging mabilisan.

Sabi ni mama "Syempre mamamatay na yung tao..." tapos sabi ko kay mama "a oo nga sa TV laging mamamatay na"

Makes sense.
SEE WHAT THE MEDIA CAN DO.
It can give medicine students the wrong impression of how the operating room works -- and it leads to anxiety!

Kaya ako kinakabahang maging scrub nurse.
And they called the operation that we handled "Emergency" -- the word itself tells me one thing -- FAST. Haha. Pero totoo namang may times na mabilis talaga -- pero not everytime :D

Good thing I started to put on my gloves before anyone else would -- because I am slow. And Sir put his on like a wrist watch.

Swerte namin kay sir. Ganun mga gusto kong teacher e. Kahit hindi siya teacher, tulad niya gusto ko. Kahit medyo pataray magsalita, may sense.


Hindi ko talaga yun makakalimutan. Lol.
